If a cricketer is good enough, taking wickets and scoring runs, how important is his fitness? That question has been frequently raised when looking at the peculiar case of Rakheem Cornwall, nicknamed the “man mountain”. Weighing an impressive 300 pounds, Rahkeem Cornwall is a very talented cricketer but has not been picked by the West Indies on account of his weight. To prove Rahkeem’s talent, he scored 41 against a full strength India attack and went on to take five wickets with the ball. Some of his victims included Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane.
Rahkeem Cornwall toured England with the West Indies A team but did not have much success, struggling to adapt to the more seam friendly conditions. Cornwall has been a regular in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) where he has played for the St. Lucia Stars, who have had a dire record in the competition.
